Jesus answered ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind,' and ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.'
When the Coronavirus pandemic started in March 2020, Mark drew together a Covid Support Pastoral Team of people with DBS clearance to work helping and supporting members of our parish. Through regular telephone calls, collecting prescriptions, delivering shopping, or just knocking on doors to check all was OK, they tried to ensure that no-one was left in need of help or feeling alone. We have now made the decision that this level of covid support is no longer needed, as we have moved out of the time of restriction. We give thanks for each member of the team and thank God for their service to our church family and to our wider community. We are very grateful to the team for giving their time and energy during these difficult times.
We offer a prayer of thanksgiving to God for bringing us all through this challenging time.
Father, we thank you that you know and understand our needs even before we ourselves know. We thank you for your protection and for bringing us through challenging times.
Thank you, Father, for those who have understood your word, to ‘Love your neighbour as yourself' and have willingly given their time and energy to support members of our community.
Bless us during this continued period of uncertainty and may we all be strengthened by your word, demonstrating love and kindness towards one another.
